🧭 Not fortune-telling — an ancient Chinese philosophical system for self-knowledge & balance.

What is Wu Xing (五行)?

Wu Xing — "Five Phases" — is one of the oldest frameworks in Chinese philosophy. First recorded in the Shangshu · Hong Fan (~1000 BCE), it describes the world as five phases of energy — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water — that feed and balance one another in an endless cycle. It's the system behind Chinese medicine, Feng Shui, BaZi and, yes, your personality. Tap an element for its deep dive.

Questions, answered

Is this fortune-telling?

No. Wu Xing is an ancient Chinese philosophical system for understanding change and balance — the same framework behind Chinese medicine and Feng Shui. We share it for culture, self-knowledge and entertainment. Nothing here is a prediction.

How do you calculate my element?

In the traditional Chinese calendar, each day is marked by a Heavenly Stem (one of 10) and an Earthly Branch (one of 12). The Stem of your birth day — your Day Master — belongs to one of the five elements. We compute it with a verified Chinese calendar algorithm (no zodiac-sign shortcuts).

What's the difference between this and my Chinese zodiac?

Your zodiac animal comes from your birth year (2025 = the Snake). Your Day Master element comes from your birth day. The year element is a fun bonus — the day element is the deeper "you" in the tradition.

Do I need my exact birth time?

No. The free reading uses your birth date. In BaZi, the hour refines the chart — that's part of the paid deep dive.

What if I don't want to share my birth date?

No problem — take the 2-minute personality quiz instead. It matches you to an element through 8 questions, no dates needed.
